
Aries energy is a bold, assertive, courageous and pioneering energy. A natural born leader, Aries has no problem being first! (Especially as the first sign of the zodiac and marking the beginning of a new astrological year.) Aries energy is ruled by Mars making it very active and usually quite athletic, meaning your best foods would be a balance of complex carbs, proteins plus fruits and vegetables to fuel the body and support recovery.
The Colour Red
Red is a primary colour that makes other colours within the colour spectrum. In different cultures, red often represents passion, leadership, aggression and danger, all of which are intense like Aries! Red is also associated with the colour of blood, which travels throughout the body transporting essential nutrients and toxins to be removed. Red is also the first colour a baby can see as the easiest after black and white with the longest wavelength.

Most red coloured fruits and vegetables contain a carotenoid hydrocarbon called Lycopene. Lycopene was first discovered in the tomato by Millardet in 1876, and some studies have shown signs that is has a beneficial role in chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, cancer, atherosclerosis and neurodegenerative disorders.
What can you eat to increase Aries sun and rising sign vitality?
Red coloured foods really boost the natural essence of the Aries Energy, enhancing vitality and life force within. If you have an Aries Sun or Aries Rising/Ascendent energies, red foods like these are your go-to for fuelling your passion, spirit and sparkle:
Fruits & Vegetables – tomatoes, watermelon, red apples, red peppers, strawberries, chili peppers, radish, cranberries, and goji berries
Meat & Fish – beef, pork, and lamb
Lentils, Whole Grains, Nuts & Seeds – red lentils and red quinoa
